Sondage sans appel du “Pew Research Center” sur la connaissance qu’ont les américains des affaires nationales (69% savent, par exemple, que Dick Cheney est le vice-président actuel) :
Pew judged the levels of knowledgeability (correct answers) among those surveyed and found that those who scored the highest were regular watchers of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and Colbert Report. They tied with regular readers of major newspapers in the top spot — with 54% of them getting 2 out of 3 questions correct.
Pew a jugé les niveaux de connaissance (réponses correctes) parmi les sondés et a constaté que ceux qui ont eu les scores les plus hauts étaient les spectateurs réguliers du Daily Show et du Colbert Report, de Comedy Central. Ils sont à égalité, à la première place, avec les lecteurs réguliers des principaux journaux – 54% d’entre eux obtenant 2 réponses sur 3 correctes.
Virtually bringing up the rear were regular watchers of Fox News. Only 1 in 3 could answer 2 out of 3 questions correctly. Fox topped only network morning show viewers.
Virtuellement à la traine, on trouve les spectateurs réguliers de Fox News. Seulement 1 sur 3 a pu répondre à 2 questions sur 3 correctement. Fox devance seulement les spectateurs des émissions matinales.

Le Daily Show et le Colbert Report, des émissions obligatoires pour qui veut suivre l’actualité US avec le sourire. Et faire de la satire réclame, évidemment, un minimum de savoir sur les affaires en cours…
Je me demande seulement si on obtiendrait les mêmes types de scores avec les Guignols en France.

Et bien je pense que non… Les français sont plus au courant des affaires nationales, et il sont un tout petit peu mieux informés que les américains à l’international(c’est très discutable, je vous l’accorde).
Toutefois ces connaissance resteraient générales et vagues !

Jon Stewart and Colbert are masters at the art of political humor, IMO. It takes an intelligent, well-informed person to “get it”. I also like the fact that Stewart and Colbert are not afraid to laugh at both sides of the aisle, no one is immune to their satire.
Which brings me to this…
Did you ever see the so-called comedy show that Fox News tried to put on? It was called “The 1/2 Hour News Hour” which,instead of using humor to slash at news commentary, it only took swipes at people like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Howard Dean and Al Gore.
Apparently they couldn’t get a live audience to laugh at their lame attempt at humor, but used “canned laugh tracks” that would have laughter even during times when nothing was going on in the show. It was really strange!
Of course those who only watch Fox News don’t know what’s going on in the world because they are in their own little universe. Their humor is of the hate variety, after all, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh were their big headliners on that program. Pretty sad….and not funny!

Beginning today, Comedy Central’s hit shows The Colbert Report and The Daily Show will be coming to Xbox Live. Within 24 hours of the new episode airing, it will be available at the Xbox Live Marketplace for a still-unknown price. Xbox Live does try to keep their pricing competitive with the competition (*cough*iTunes*cough*) so expect to pay around $2 per episode. Can we expect to see Xbox Live topping bears on the threatdown? Lets hope so—bears are overrated
